Summary

Although law has tried to keep track of important developments through times and as a rule has caught up with them with some delay, there is no doubt that the written law has not managed to keep up with the development of the Internet and information technology. Issues such as the liability of service providers on the Internet, advertising and sale via the Internet, contracts entered into via the Internet, the legal status of domain names and others can normally be regulated by the law in force. The law only needs some adjustment in the light of new developments. A majority of the general principles of law are also applicable in e-law and in order to implement them successfully it is necessary to work out the details of the new area.
The reader is introduced to issues concerning e-law and the Internet developments which have affected the law in the recent years.
